The Greenhouse EMEA HR Manager AI & Bias Pulse Report, conducted in November 2023, offers valuable insights into the widespread adoption and profound impact of AI on HR and hiring processes across the UK, Germany, and Ireland.

Discoveries from the report:
A staggering 89% of HR Managers in the surveyed region are harnessing the power of AI tools within their departments. In fact, 69% of them rely on AI multiple times a week or even daily!

It’s fascinating to learn that an impressive 59% of HR Managers are utilizing generative AI tools during the hiring process itself. As a result, the majority of candidates now interact with AI systems as they navigate their way through interviews and assessments.

Unsurprisingly, AI is revolutionizing recruiting and hiring practices. Thanks to its adoption, 68% of HR Managers are experiencing notable benefits such as increased efficiency, finding more suitable candidates, better matching, and diminishing bias.

However, it’s important to address the challenges associated with AI. Concerns about trustworthiness (47%), over-reliance without sufficient human oversight (47%), and biases impacting underrepresented groups (40%) are legitimate concerns that must be considered and addressed.

AI is reshaping the landscape of candidate evaluation, with more than 55% of HR Managers acknowledging that it has influenced the skills they seek in potential hires. Excitingly, the future of AI in hiring promises enhanced efficiency, automation, and decision-making capabilities.

What’s even more intriguing is that AI is not only transforming the hiring process but also driving internal mobility within organizations. A striking 63% of HR Managers have observed an increase in internal mobility as a direct result of adopting AI technologies.

However, the report uncovers a concerning statistic: 28% of HR Managers remain unconvinced about the fairness and transparency of their internal mobility hiring procedures.

Lastly, it’s important to note the increasing adoption of remote work models, with 52% of HR Managers reporting significant cost savings from embracing distributed workforces.

Fascinating, isn’t it? By embracing AI, HR Managers are venturing into a realm of unparalleled efficiency, improved decision-making, and increased opportunities for both candidates and employees. There’s no doubt that the future of HR is being shaped by these transformative technologies.
